I wonder how Power 7, Nehalem EX and Magny Cours would compare in folding@home.

Knowing SpyMac, you probably couldn't sell a shred of dignity on their auction site. But I guess that's not surprising for SpyMac.

Did you find that having external drives slows you down a bit when the MP accesses those drives?
I have a Mac Pro too, and at one time moved my iTunes library to an external disk...Every time I played music or movies, the whole computer would lag for several seconds until the drive "caught up to speed".
That's why I won't use external drives anymore - I just upgraded all my internal drives instead.

I purchased the peachpit press books intending to do the Apple Certified System Administrator (ACSA 10.6) exams but havent had time to do so until now. From what iv'e read about discontinuing of xserve and apple looking to move away from this area is it really worth my time and money doing this certification anymore? I want some apple certification to my name. Im wondering if I should just do the Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) 10.6. its only one exam as opposed to four. Any advice would be appreciated thanks

I love Woz. I've met him once, he's one of the most down to earth and humble people you could ever meet. IMO only the Dali Lama has him beat. He's the exact opposite of what I would expect SJ to be.
I wonder how Woz would have responded to the iP4 antenna issue?

As you have read, I can't decide between the Ipod touch 4gen 64gb, and a refurbished Ipad 1st gen 64gb deal from Apple site. They both are around $400.00 USD. I would like the ipod touch b/c i currently own a ipod classic, an would like to get into the world of apps, and games(i never owned a console). What do you guys think for games and music and apps, should i go for one over the other? What are the other perks in the ipad? and should you guys think to opt out and go with the ipad 2 as well? Please reply..and thanks for your comments.

Startup company Ntractive (http://www.ntractive.com/) gave attendees of Macworld San Francisco a glimpse at its upcoming product Elements SBM.
Elements SBM tackles an old problem (small business management) in a new and rather innovative way: by creating a hybrid desktop/web application. The result promises to be a solution that gives users the accessibility of web applications with the power, look, and feel of a desktop application. Features planed for 1.0 (http://www.ntractive.com/site/features/) will include an administrative interface, home screen, calendar, email, in/out, contacts, notes, sales, service, marketing, developer, projects, internet, images, and document modules.
The first installment of Elements SBM will be for Mac OS X, and will feature integration with iChat, Address Book, iPhoto, the Dock, and will support Drag and Drop, amongst others. However, because the application is built utilizing WebKit, versions for the iPhone and Windows are also in the pipeline.
Ntractive says that it already has over 550 companies signed up for a beta coming this Spring.

I think asking where to download illegal software is against forum rules here as well. But yes, it would be closed even quicker at an Apple forum.
never asked for an illegal copy..

How did you get the ghosting effect? Was it all done in iMovie, or what?
Are the iPods at the end stock footage or did you do that yourself?
Yep all done with my mate iMovie
filming was easy 35 sec of wobbling around in the dark , editing in iMovie was a pain as it will not pick up my widescreen settings - so had to import as 4:3 and add the ghosting effect then exported to another project with the iPod advert in with the music and end bit in
chucked in some more effect - fast/slow reverse ect...
and export to iPod and done:D
i do not expect to win anything with this entry , but this is just a taster for me to do better
Just waiting for the weekend now and some good weather, so i can shoot the next one:cool:

Well, unless you find an easier way, you only would have to type each album name (how many?) once, then copy, paste, paste, paste... for each track.

Called up Apple today. They explained that since the guy had and extended warranty for the phone, he'd have transferred it to some other phone, and that's the reason why apple shows that mine's replaced.
So no reason to worry, but the seller took me for a ride, I paid a premium for the phone since it was under extended warranty :(

Hello everyone. I have this iPad since january 2011 and from about 2 weeks to now I have been observing some weird marks growing on the back of my iPad. I use the Apple iPad Case most of the time, rarely taking it out to clean the screen.

Flash is certainly an option, but it wasn't high on the list of what I wanted to consider on account of basically having to embed 20 tiny Flash files for basic audio that can be handled quite well by dedicated media players. (That, and Flash ads have gotten so infuriating recently that even I'm starting to recommend turning off embedded Flash.)
Just seems like an added step that shouldn't be necessary, but perhaps it's the smoothest way to handle this (and does allow me to skip pre-loading, I believe).
Other suggestions? Anybody?

Do a google search for InsomiaT. It's a fork of InsomniaX that has a system pref pane and works on Snow Leopard. I use it on Lion, works fine. It's in system prefs, so less menu bar clutter! :D
