Nothing is listed, even though a device is plugged in.
Try another device. repeat system profiler check.
I had a similiar problem with an external hard drive. Would not register, then plugged in an apple mouse to same USB port, it registered.
My solution was a reboot, then the system recognized the external drive.

When I dragged the image to my desktop it didn't have a white background so not sure why it would have a white background for you.
Same here. Opens in photoshop with a transparent background already.
Was he just talking about fringe? If so, that can be taken care of with Layer -> Matting -> Defringe.
I didn't really see very much of a white fringe on the original, but there was one there.

I'm guessing $50 for a single person and $80 for a family pack. What are your guesses and why?

Hi,
We did the reset SMC but it didn't work, the Macbook still loses power when it's not plugged in, is there anything else we could try or is it a new battery it needs?
If you mean it shuts down immediately after unplugging, regardless of the amount of charge, take it to Apple to have them check it out. If you mean that it begins draining the battery when unplugged, that's normal, of course.

Does anyone have a really nice presentation built with Apple's Keynote that I can show to my Microsoft Powerpoint advocates? I really would like a presentation that would blow powerpoint out of the water. I looked on apple's site for a demo but found a "How to use" video. If anyone has one please post or email me the keynote file.
Thanks!

Airport Extreme. Doesn't come with a disk. Supports HFS+. Unlike the Time Capsule, you can connect your hard drive to a Mac via USB.
Seriously, though, HFS+ is a hack, and Apple knows it. It was introduced in Mac OS 8.1, and it was never intended to be used for as long as it has been. Why do you think they tried to put UFS in 10.0 and ZFS into Leopard? From what I've read, ZFS would be a much better file system to be interested in.

Sorry I do not have any idea about text writing in Dreamweaver. I think you should take help from some experts to write text.

I meet one person after another who thinks iTunes Store tracks are sourced from CDs. But to me this doesn't make any sense because for the amount of tracks available on the store, the number that become newly available regularly... it would take an army.
I was always under the impression that Apple sourced the tracks digitally from the labels, and encoded to AAC from sources that were almost certainly higher up the ladder than CD quality (ie; studio master)
Does anybody know for sure what the lineage of Store songs is?
Thanks.

I currently have my own forum (phpbb) that I run on my website. I recently just got a new hosting provider and I'd like to transfer my forum from my older provider to the new one.
The problem I run into is that because my database is about 25 megs in size I have to find some way to break it down into smaller chunks because they will not allow me to upload the file in any larger than two mb chunks.
Anyone out there have any experience with this that they might be able to offer some advice?

Hi! I searched the web and apple site and I can't find the answers I'm looking for. I just bought a pair of Nike Plus shoes and I want to connect them with a Nano.
I will be using the Nano only for jogging/running/walking.
I have the 160Classic for all my musical needs so I need the cheapest Nano I could find for this activity. 8GB will be plenty enough. So:
1) Which Nano works with the Nike Plus system ? The cheapest solution would be the 3G (the fatty) being the oldest. I think I read somewhere that any Nano with >1.3 software will work. Correct me if wrong.
2) If I got it right, there are 2 types of Nike software for the Nano. The standard/pre-installed one which would have this "pedometer" (?) and would work only with running, but if you'd want the vocal assistance and all the other fancy features you'd need to buy the Nike Plus Kit. Am I forced to have that pin-connector in my Nano all the time for it to work ?
^ I know, it's a huge info-mess, that's why I am asking for your help. Which would be the chepeast solution and having the full service enabled for my activity ?
Thanks

Only the RAM it sees. The address space for the remaining RAM is not available to the OS. This is a chipset limitation and appears both in OSX and Windows.
Got ya, thanks for the info.

QC is amazing. I've used it for a few years with software called VDMX to do live audio-reactive visuals. It's included in the dev tools with XCode - http://developer.apple.com
Enjoy!
Also check out kineme.net for an active QC community :)

Okay, so I've been doing photography for almost two years now, which none of my cameras exceeding $200. Currently, I use a Samsung SL420, which is just a cheap $179 P&S.
Recently, though, I've been thinking about upgrading to a DSLR, and I'm wondering whether it'd be worth it for how good I am. I love my Samsung, but it infuriates me that the white balance settings are right next to the language settings.
Here are some pictures I've taken in the past year to judge whether I'm ready for this:

Most of these were completely unedited, by the way.
What do you think, guys? Am I good enough to upgrade? Or am I good enough now that I should just save the money?
