Actually all you have to do is select the images in Aperture then go to the File menu > Relocate Master...
In the next window choose your external drive (make a new folder if you want) and click Relocate Master.
Aperture will move the files to your external drive and, since you're doing all the moving with Aperture, Aperture will know the new location.
Easy Peasy. :)

I WAS HERE FIRST! Wasteland
Why? I don't see any pushing of financial gain, there don't even appear to be ads on the site; just an announcement of another forum that people might be interested in joining. Is this a bad thing? Seriously?

Yes, preferably you'd have better protection before someone enters your home. But like car alarms, a Kensington Lock can be used as a deterrent (it'll take at least a few minutes to get it off without a key/combination). If force is used, it'll obviously damage the security slot.

I'm tried direct connection but no luck. Is a regular CAT 5 cable sufficient? Or would I need a "crossover" cable?
Thanks,

i just want to know what the orange thing is that is acting like a protective/decorative logo on the outside of the case (where the light-up apple logo is now). My mom really thought it was cool...

This makes me sad. I used to go to UTSA and I could go to the Apple Store whenever I wanted because I was so damn nearby. How people long is the line now?

Maybe they did only part of WU and then they had a error resulting in no work completed so no points, but it still counts as a WU. The error could be cause by the CPU and a number of other things.

AIC is very limited. It was originally created to deal with HDV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Intermediate_Codec), for which high definition is 1440 x 1080 and it is flagged in the NLE to be anamorphic (i.e. non-square pixels) to it is "stretched" to 1920 x 1080.
Apple's info. (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2704)
As a codec it holds up OK for simple editing workflows, but, being 8-bit 4:2:0 colour, the professionals turn up their nose at it.

i got an iSkin for my PB - it takes a bit of getting used to but i'd definitely recommend it for keeping dust etc out from under your keyboard. the only worry is that dust etc could get down the speak grille, but those holes are so small that it may not worry.
about putting something over the keyboard to protect the screen from dust etc (especially if you use an iSkin which will raise the level of the keks and most likely touch the screen if you don't do something about it) - i used a plain piece of A4 paper for almost a year while i had my TiBook. works fine, no need to dosh out to get some special 'keyboard' protector. and with the iSkin, a piece of paper is probably all that you'll fit under there with the 'lid' closed anyway.

Trying to open ports to allow hosting Killing Floor games, but no matter what I do, it doesn't want to open them.
The following ports are used by the game:
7707 UDP/IP (Game Port)
7708 UDP/IP (Query Port)
7717 UDP/IP (GameSpy Query Port)
28852 TCP/IP and UDP (Allows your Server to Connect to the Master Server Browser)
8075 TCP/IP (Port set via ListenPort that your WebAdmin will run on)
20560 UDP/IP (Steam Port)
* Linksys E1000 router w/ latest firmware installed
* Computer is assigned a static IP address (wired connection)
* Port Forwarding and Port Range forwarding have been configured
* Have tried DMZ to my Mac, no difference
* Mac OS X Firewall is disabled
* Router firewall is disabled
* Firewall On with the app on the allow list isn't making a difference
This web-based tool and Network Utility keep showing the required ports as "closed" even though I have set up port forwarding to my Mac's IP and there are no firewalls in place.
http://www.canyouseeme.org/
Here's the thing: if I enable something like Web Sharing (port 80) in Sharing, it opens and closes the port just fine, and those two utilities show the port's status properly.
But no matter what I do, firewall on or off, I can't get ports 7707-7717 and the others to become "open" on my Mac.

I'm the proud owner of a new imac i7, and i have windows 7 that I intend to install on bootcamp. I have a couple questions, which I know have been discussed a thousand times in the forums, but the threads are old and I can't seem to find a sure answer for them.
1. Can I use my apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse during installation of windows 7, or do I have to have a usb mouse?
2. After windows is installed, does the bluetooth keyboard work to hold option at startup and choose which partition to boot from.
3. If the answer to 2 is "no" or "sometimes", how could i go about choosing to boot into os x once im in windows. I know in os x I can go system preferences-startup disk. Is there a similar functionality in windows?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for beating a dead horse, or whatever the hell that saying is ;)

only the normal files will be restored, not jailbreak stuff.
I'm using a file viewer right now and unfortunately my backup contains a lot of files like /cydia.packages.txt and such. Is there anything out there that will let me delete specific files from a backup on my computer (OS X)?

Yeah, I'm almost certain this will be NTSC-J. Get a cheap Japanese Mario 64 cart to test it with. Or just get Starfox 64 'cos it's awesome, you should at least play through that before you sell it :D
Any chance you can post some pictures of the console itself please? I've seen Korean versions of most consoles, but I'm not sure I've seen their N64.
Edit: That adapter you have is just a simple pin extender to play US games, so I would say this is definitely a Japanese machine inside.

You're probably best off asking on the ableton forums really.
40% seems pretty normal though and should still allow you to do plenty of work, is it causing you any problems?

Those stats were quite wrong; 9% of owners have not downloaded apps, rather than 32% (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/10/25/nielsen_restates_ipad_stats/).

Yeah I have a 23 inch cinema display that I will be hooking up to the laptop.
I guess the real question is whether I really need the power of the 15 inch if i will only be doing rough cuts while at school. Maybe the 13in will suffice? Only disadvantage is lack of graphics card for motion and color. I really do like the portability of the 13. I can always buy an iMac later on when I make some more cash off video work.
